Kinyongia fischeri

This video shows a male Fischer’s Chameleon (Kinyongia fischeri) feeding on a cricket. This is a true Kinyongia fischeri (based on Mariaux et al., 2008) from the Nguru Mountains of Tanzania. This chameleon was 12cm Snout-to-vent length and extends its tongue to a total distance of 17.1cm in this feeding sequence. The video was filmed at 3000 frames per second and is played back at a rate of 30 frames per second (slowed down 100x).
